(Singapore, 11 August 2009) – ICON International Communications, an independent strategic communication consultancy with offices in Singapore and Sydney, has been appointed as the official Public Relations agency partner for the APEC CEO Summit, which will take place in Singapore from 12-14 November 2009.

With the theme ““Rebuilding the Global Economy: Crisis and Opportunity”, this prestigious forum will bring together APEC heads of government, CEOs of major multinational companies and thought leaders to discuss the most pressing socio-economic and business issues facing the Asia Pacific region today. The Summit will be held in conjunction with Singapore’s hosting of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting.

Distinguished speakers at the APEC CEO Summit are expected to include President Barack Obama of the United States of America, President Hu Jintao of China, President Dmitry Medvedev of Russia, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono of Indonesia, as well as Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong of Singapore.

ICON will be responsible for promoting the APEC CEO Summit both regionally and internationally, emphasizing the important role APEC is playing in the recovery from the global economic crisis to positively impact the international business community. The event is expected to draw several hundred journalists from around the world, representing almost every major global news organisation.
