THE CHALLENGE
Global consumer electronics company Oregon Scientific collaborated with top international minimalist designer, Philippe Starck to develop a new range of innovative clocks - the “Time and Weather Starck with Oregon Scientific” collection.
Oregon Scientific called on the ICON team to support the organisation of the Australian leg of the global launch of the new product range.
THE SOLUTION
ICON launched the range using a series of one-on-one media interviews with Philippe Starck and Oregon Scientific. An official launch of the collection was hosted by Philippe Starck at the NSW Art Gallery in Sydney and was attended by leading Sydney celebrities and the design community, Oregon Scientific customers as well as representatives from technology, lifestyle and business media.
THE RESULTS
The launch program generated much media interest in the new product range and the Oregon Scientific brand and helped position the company as a key player in the local consumer digital market.
Media coverage of the unique product range was generated over a lengthy period with articles continuing to appear 12 months after the official launch took place.
Leveraging the association with the respected designer, the launch positioned Oregon Scientific as not only a leading global technology brand, but also a brand synonymous with style and innovation.
