ICON is a member of the global crisis communication network for Kenyon International Emergency Services, the world's leading disaster management company.
ICON Singapore managing director John Bailey launched the crisis communication consultancy service for the International Air Transport Association in 1998, helping to define "best practice" for the global airline industry.
The service was acquired by Kenyon in 2004 and now operates through ICON in Asia and Australasia.
ICON provides crisis communications training and consultancy services to Kenyon customers throughout the region and remains on 24-hour standby to respond to accidents and major incidents involving Kenyon clients worldwide.
ICON was activated by Kenyon to respond to the December 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami in Phuket, Thailand, where it was the only communication consultancy to work alongside the multinational disaster management effort.
Bailey was also a member of the Kenyon team which responded to the crash of a Helios Airways Boeing 737 aircraft near Athens, Greece, in August 2005, advising the CEO and management at the airline's headquarters in Larnaca, Cyprus.
